Stool in solid wood of scented cedar machined from a single block, it brings to mind the wheels of cheese stacked one on the other for ageing. The products are made from completely natural wood, hand-finished without the addition of any treatment. Any movements, cracks and changes in the appearance of the wood are intrinsic characteristics of these items and result from the natural settlement and diverse environmental conditions of the wood.
CEDARWOOD
Majestic logs of scented cedarwood, fallen due to natural events or cut down for programmed schedule, are the start point for the working process of this precious wood which is shaped by using CNC machineries with 5- and 6-axis. An innovative technology which transforms a raw log into a design object with a peculiar and unmistakable scent, and afterwards is sanded and finished by hand.
Designer
Ascanio Zocchi
Ascanio Zocchi was born in 1971 in Riva del Garda.
He started his professional life collaborating with Michelangelo Lupo, architect in Trento, as architect and designer for big furniture companies in Trentino Alto Adige and Lombardy planning and realizing interiors of café, hotels, restaurants and public places in general.
In 2000 he opened his activity as freelancer in the field of interior design handling projects for homes, public places, hospitality, hotels, shops, offices, restaurants, wellness areas and others.
The particular attention to the use of eco-sustainable materials and the big passion for wood brougth him in studing the concept for design complementary objects in order to create harmonious environments combining functionality, tendency and wellness.
He is a member of “Commissione Unica di Laurea in Design degli interni” at Politecnico of Milan “Scuola del Design” as a representative of AIPI (Italian association interiores designer).
He is a member of distribution and service department and of FOOD design commission of ADI (Italian association for the industrial design).
In 2015 he becomes CEO in CDA of AIPI and territory delegate for the North Italy
