KAURI · The lord of the forest
Tane Mahuta in Maori means Millennial Kauri, which is the native biggest and most famous tree of New Zealand, and also the oldest wood of the world. Grown up in the Jurassic Period these vegetal giants have been cut down by enormous natural disasters more than 50.000 years ago thus remained buried under meters of mud and unchanged until our days. Logs up to 70 meters of length and 9 meters of diameter are brought to light, they are true natural sculptures ready to be transformed into unique design pieces
C.R. & S.
Entered in the family’s workshop when they were very young, Maurizio and Davide Riva, nowadays owners of Riva 1920 together with their sister Anna, are the designers of some products of the company.
Gifted with great intuition and passion for the wood, they stood out in the furniture branch thanks to their business philosophy aimed to safeguard the arboreal patrimony, to preserve the traditions of craftsmanship, to use materials which are not harmful for the human health and not damaging the environment at all production stages.
The quality and the excellence are the core of their production, which is characterized by linear design to express in the best possible way the beauty and the preciosity of wood.
